Holiday Giving with mary's place

Mary's Place helps homeless women, children, and families in emergency situations. This holiday, you can help by making a $20 donation (via Amazon or directly to Mary's Place) for gift certificates for new shoes. Mary's Place hopes to gift 2,500 gift certificates for new pairs of shoes.

You can also request specific gift tags for toys for kids or parent gifts. These gifts need to be dropped off by 7pm on December 16th.

Christmas trees

If you plan to buy a Christmas tree and/or wreath this year, consider supporting El Centro de la Raza (Beacon Hill) or Seattle Area Support Groups (Capitol Hill) with your business.

You can preorder your trees and wreaths from El Centro de la Raza; and both organizations also take volunteers who want to work on the tree lots.

Donate winter coats

The Downtown Emergency Service Center (DESC) serves vulnerable adults suffering from chronic homelessness. Their biggest need is adult mens outerwear and womens plus size. The coats can be used but should be in good shape - they need to close, zip, snap, or button. DESC requests warm winter coats but lightweight rain jackets are also appreciated.

Drop donations off at 515 3rd Avenue in Pioneer Square. For large donations please email donations@desc.org.
